Reading Comprehension for Kids
(scroll this section to read all)

Being able to read to a good level really is a major stepping stone to improving your life in many ways. But just being able to read the words is only a small part of the equation! A critical requirement is to improve your ability to understand the explicit and implied meaning of the text. Therefore schools always try to teach 'reading comprehension' in a variety of ways (for example by analysing poetry and having group discussions about its language, themes and structure).

Improved reading comprehension skills will increase your academic successes throughout the curriculum as well as significantly improve your job prospects. Some of the main benefits of improving your skills are potentially increased levels of:

  • creativity
  • empathy
  • job prospects
  • academic achievements
  • brain functionality
  • critical thinking abilities
  • self-esteem
  • status amongst peers

See below to access our extensive list of links fun games and activities! There are also plenty of instructional videos and worksheets too! There's no reason why you can't enjoy yourself while you try out our fabulous resources.
