Healthy Ingredients for Recipes
Healthy Recipes will have a varied and healthy balance of the following foods which should supply your child with all their necessary fiber, vitamins and minerals, protein, carbohydrates, fats and water intakes :
- Protein e.g. lean meats, fish or lentils
- Grains e.g. whole-wheat rice
- Dairy e.g. milk or yoghurt
- Fruit and Vegetables e.g. apples, melon, carrots and peas
- Healthy Fats e.g. mono-unsaturated fats
- Good Hydration e.g. water or milk
Make sure your child avoids the following foods most of the time : refined sugars, fast fried foods, fatty meats, heavily processed foods, too much saturated fats etc.
A healthy diet for kids is essential for both their physical and mental wellbeing. Having access to a set of tried and trusted healthy recipes is a big help to achieve this because it takes a lot of the thinking out of the equation, which parents and guardians often struggle for time with.
